Most water heaters burn fuel or run pure electric resistance to heat water, using far more energy than the job actually requires. A heat pump water heater works differently. Instead of generating heat directly, it pulls warmth from the surrounding air and transfers it into your water, using the same efficient refrigerant technology behind our air conditioning and heat pump installations.
The result is hot water delivered using a fraction of the energy a conventional unit needs, without asking you to change how you use it day to day.
A heat pump water heater draws in ambient air, extracts the heat from it using R32 or R290 refrigerant, then transfers that heat directly into your water tank. Because it is moving heat rather than creating it from scratch, it can deliver two to three times the efficiency of a standard electric water heater, all while running on the same eco friendly refrigerants we use across every Kapranthermo installation.
Heat pump water heaters work best in spaces with enough surrounding air volume to draw heat from, such as a utility room, basement, or garage. During your consultation, we assess your space, your hot water demand, and your current setup to confirm whether a heat pump water heater is the right fit or whether another configuration would serve you better. We are not interested in selling you equipment that does not match your building.
From initial sizing and site assessment through to installation, our certified technicians handle the full process, including safely connecting the unit to your existing plumbing and electrical setup. Once installed, we offer scheduled maintenance and fast repairs to keep your system running at the efficiency it was built for.
